2025 US Mortgage Lending Trend Report

Comprehensive year-over-year macroeconomic shift analysis comparing the 2025 Snapshot National Dataset against the 2024 baseline across 6.7M+ consumer mortgage applications, actionable credit decisions, loan amounts, and lender underwriting results.

Dataset Baseline: 2025 Snapshot vs. 2024 Baseline (Frozen: June 2, 2026)

Coverage: 1–4 Unit Residential, Principal Residence, First-Lien Consumer Mortgages

Credit Decision Denominator Rule: Approval and denial rates are calculated strictly among actionable applications reaching a formal credit underwriting decision (Actions 1, 2, and 3: loan originated, approved but not accepted, denied). Applications withdrawn by borrower (Action 4) and closed for incompleteness (Action 5) are tracked for market completeness but excluded from underwriting decision rates.
